Warts
Warts refer to hard growths on the skin. They are common both in children and adults. Warts are capable of spreading, but they are usually harmless.
Symptoms of Warts
Warts appear as rough elevations on the skin, generally on the fingers, elbows, knees, face, and scalp. They are very painful and the sufferer is not able to walk properly.
Types of Warts
There are four main types of these growths caused by a virus:
- Plantar warts on the soles of the feet.
- Hand warts.
- Genital warts.
- Flat warts (which can be appear anywhere)
Home Remedies for Warts
- Applying fresh cut pineapple on the affected area several times in day will remove the wart in 2-3 days.
- Apply castor oil daily over the problematic area. Continue for several months.
- Raw potatoes are beneficial in the treatment of warts. They should be cut and rubbed on the affected area several times daily, for at least two weeks. This wi1l bring about good results.
- Crush the vitamin C tablets and apply on the area, cover it with adhesive bandage.
- Rub cut onions on the warts to stimulate the circulation of blood.
- Apply powder of herb Indian squill daily over the warts.
- Massage the area with castor oil twice a day, it will make the area soft and remove wart.
- Take a piece of Banana peel and place the yellow side out on the wart. Tape it there over night. Change the peel every 12 to 24 hours until the wart is gone.
- Soak the area in warm water for 15-20 minutes and pat it dry. Apply cider vinegar with cotton balls and leave for sometime, till it gets dry. Then again wash it with water and dry the area.
- Marigold is another herb found beneficial in the treatment of warts. The juice of the leaves of this plant can be applied beneficially over warts. The sap from the stem has also been found beneficial in the removal of warts.
- Certain other external applications over the affected parts have also proved beneficial in the treatment of warts. These include juices of papaya and pineapple, and chalk powder mixed with water.
